This jacket it nice and warm without being too thick. However, it is on the thinner side, so if you live somewhere really cold I'm not sure it would do you a lot of good as anything but a layering piece on more temperate days. I like in Texas and don't need anything heavy duty so this was pretty perfect for my needs. I did end up sending it back because it fit me a bit bigger than expected. I'm normally a medium in tops (34D/DD) and ordered the large because I wanted room for some thicker clothing underneath, but it turns out I should have done the medium. Seeing as how the jacket has some structure to it, it looks a bit odd if it's big on you since it doesn't conform to your shape. The fabric is fuzzy and sort of feels like a blanket with a bit more stiffness to it. It's nice and cozy on without looking frumpy. My only big gripe with this jacket is that the "black" looks so washed out. It's like it was pure black originally and then washed a bunch of times until it faded. I personally like pure black if I'm buying something in that color and didn't like that it made it look a bit cheap and used. Overall, this is a good jacket for some cold weather (probably nothing lower than 40 degrees without more layers underneath) and it's very affordable. (P.S: you can usually find this at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls.
